Jamous's appointment is the latest in a recent series of technology executive changes in the financial services sector. Behind this trend is the pursuit of efficiency and productivity gains by banks and insurance companies through strengthening infrastructure and scaling AI adoption.

As AI models continue to evolve and enterprise-grade agent technology matures, banks are expected toleverage AI to a greater extentthis year. According to a report by Accenture, many banks have already noted efficiency gains from AI in customer service, risk management, and software engineering.

During the company'sQ1 2026 earnings callin April, Holmes told investors that over the past five years, Texas Capital has been building a modern technology infrastructure, including 250 internal APIs designed for AI and a proprietary multi-LLM platform for employees.

Holmes explained that the bank's AI strategy has three pillars: scaling enterprise agents for processes like credit portfolio reviews, building agents internally, and selectively deploying third-party AI products.

Discussing the bank's AI strategy, Holmes said: "We have embedded appropriate governance and risk management at every stage of development and deployment."

According to the announcement, Jamous will lead technology strategy at Texas Capital, covering areas such as AI enablement, application development, data platforms, information security, infrastructure, and enterprise architecture.

Jamous said in the announcement: "Building on the strong foundation already in place, I look forward to working with the excellent teams across the organization to advance our technology capabilities and deliver solutions for stakeholders."

According to hisLinkedIn page, Jamous led AI transformation during his tenure at U.S. Bank, driving nearly 60% revenue growth. Before joining U.S. Bank, Jamous also led digital transformation efforts at multinational financial services firm BBVA by scaling AI and advanced analytics.
